There's a very simple explanation for that...

No one wants to buy a car that is not certain to be around in the next couple of years... how do I know? I sold Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep... I went through this shit with customers when Fiat was in the works. You have no idea how many sales I lost due to the fact that Chrysler was bankrupt.

And DeLorean hit the nail on the head.

That is likely offset by the amount of money they have to payout for warranty work for new cars. Saabs have not been known for reliability lately, the 03+ 9-3's really put a hurt on Saab in terms of reliability and pay out for repair of electronics such as CD players, amps, fuck-the entire audio system on the early SS's.

So money from replacement parts from older Saabs is offset by how much they spend on dealer warranty work on the newer ones.

Just some examples of actual "Saab" components I recently bought, that actually came from saab. Old Saabs make Saab money.
But they don't measure the company's viability on how many heater control valves they sell. They need to sell cars.

that's fucking dope!!

I still don't understand why older Saab owners dislike newer Saabs. I've never liked older Saabs and really thought they were pretty fucking ugly but since I bought my SS I've developed an appreciation for them. It's not that my view of older Saabs has changed, but since becoming a Saab owner I've realized the uniqueness of all types of Saabs.

I really need someone to explain this to me cause I'm not sure what older Saab owners would like to see in a new Saab. Do you want the new models to resemble the older models like with what Ford and Chevy have done? Or is it just nostalgia that keeps you in your older Saab? I know most Buick owners are older folks who remember the brand from their younger days and continue to support it regardless of their preferences. Maybe that's why Buick is still around.

My beef with car enthusiasts, like a lot of those on here, is that they know too much. Hench their decision making is hindered by too much rational thought which then clouds the more important aspect regarding how you feel about a car/brand. Sure Saab is to blame for not marketing toward older Saab owners, but you guys deserve just as much blame as they do.

Everyone should do something like this to their car...it was getting lots of attention on the highway as I drove around today.

Last week the team from Rescue Saab had the honor to meet Victor Muller and Jan Ake Jonsson at the Geneva Auto Salon. Both are extremely grateful for the incredible support of the last months. The current mosaic, we have presented on behalf of the Rescue-Saab community. Victor Muller: "It will get a special place in our office so that we never forget those who fought with us ".

It's now or never: Saab to back by demand and purchase! You should contemplate a Saab-purchase.

By the way: Thanks a lot for your answers regarding our question: What’s up with Rescue Saab? The overwhelming majority to propose, Rescue Saab stand by a independent platform between Saab-customers with wishes, questions and criticism and Saab command and marketing. Thats right!

Mission accomplished! Saab rescued!

Kind regards,

Your Rescue Saab Team Dresden/ Germany
