Anybody with a 5.3L V8? I need a hand

I am pretty sure but need to see if a Saab engine cover will fit on the shop trucks GMC 5.3 v8. If you can help let me know..

i know some of the early 9-7s didn't come with engine covers.. there is 2 little hooks on the back of the plenum that the cover locks into then it screws into the plenum. if the truck has them i dont see why not.

hey nick i think the cover has different mounting points, i know theres a screw in the middle and the 2 hooks on the firewall side of the cover on the 97x this is a shot of the truck motor vs the 97x

Just swapping the engine cover, fastest motor swap ever.

Did this ever work out, I'd love it to see pictures.

They way the 9-7 sets back under the cowl I don't think it will work. Been busy with everything else too.

It'll fit. Same basic cover on my 9-7x Aero as on the TB SS -- and the Aero engine is the same family (same intake manifold, same mounting points for the cover) as the 5.3.

TBSS (I'll try to find a closer shot):
