what is the boost, afr and timing being run by these "tuners" to get that performance?
sustainability is the key question.
none of them share that with you. it's vital info if you're doing mods to your car.

Actully many of us do, log onto Ecuproject.com and look at bin files that many of us have posted and youll see EXACTLY what is done to get performance gains

its been well documented in many areas.

ive heard the New V6 is a gem, the OEM exhaust manifold puts both banks to a single turbo, an does so with (from what im told) an equal leagth manifold.

the lower end is (im told) to resemble an LS series V8 with a 6 bolt main, and all the goodies to make it plenty strong.

the Gm f40 sixspeed isnt all bad either.

Too Bad

To bad you can't say the same for the chassis and suspension.

The 2.8 engines are manufactured in Melbourne Australia by the GM Holden engine plant to Saab specs , met up with the Saab engineers when they where developing and testing the engines in Australia which included continuous test bench long run , long haul road and test track.

Local HP hereos in Australia have dynoed over 800 Whp with exactly the same block , as to porous castings and stretched timing chains never heard of it . These engines have been around for a few years and are regarded as bullet proof.

Thanks to Nick T . l imported a BSR upgrade for my Turbo x the HP increase is good the Torque increase is outstanding at 470 Nm's measured on the dyno

Yea, I just love to read the nay say-ers and GM bashers in here. This sucks, that sucks, but you get a guy in here like the above quote and kinda tells a different story and makes you feel good about owning a Saab no matter who's behind it, it's a fine machine with tons of potential.

I bought my wife's 2006 9-3SS Aero in July 2006 new off the showroom floor from Jenny at the old Saab of Baltimore. We love the car and have had no regrets. I added the BSR PPC and the BSR cold air intake. I would recommend getting both from Nick T.

i work at a Saab dealer so i have had the opportunity to drive every configuration of the 2.8T. even the turbo x didnt impress me in the least. i felt like my viggen could walk all over each one and its not even tuned. it seems like GM stepped in and said:

'no, no, lets take all of the power and dumb it down. we dont want anyone getting excited about Saabs anymore.'

the only thing i was slightly impressed with was the out of box handling. pretty good for a front heavy car with a bad power to weight ratio.

I think the place the engine will shine the most is in terms of tuning. Like it was stated before. Brian literally breathes new life into these engines.
